MESTIA INTERNATIONAL SHORT & MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL

BRIEFLY ABOUT THE FOUNDERS OF THE FESTIVAL Mestia International Short & Mountain Film Festival was founded by a NNLE “Center of Art & Culture of Mestia” and a physical entity, film director and producer – Khatuna Khundadze. This is the very first festival to represent the mountain themed (full length) films in Georgia. It is, also, noteworthy, that a short film festival has never been held in Georgia to date. Festival program consists of 3 sections: 1. International Section of Shorts. 2. International section of mountain-themed films (full-length). 3. Retrospective of Georgian short films. FESTIVAL SPACE The “Center of Art and Culture of Mestia” hall is designed for 180 spectators; and a veranda of the building allows to seat up to 500 guests. Mind-blowing and overwhelmingly impressive view from the veranda truly serves as an inpiration for shooting Mountain themed films. Mestia – a highland townlet located in the Northern part of Western Georgia, at an elevation of 1,500 metres, will host both professional filmmakers and movie lovers, for the first time within the frames of the festival in 2021.
